Ransford D. Bucknam : ウィキペディア英語版 | Ransford D. Bucknam Ransford Dodsworth Bucknam (1866-1919) was a Nova Scotian who became a Pasha, an admiral in the Turkish navy and vice-admiral to the Turkish empire. He was assassinated in Constantinople in 1919.〔http://www.hallsharbour.org/2-uncategorised/15-history-pirates-pasha-and-the-sea〕 Bucknarn was decorated with the Star of the Order of Osmanieh, the distinguished Service Medal and other medals. Bucknam was born in Halls Harbour, Nova Scotia and lived there until his parents both died suddenly when he was eight. He then moved with his paternal grandparents to Eatonville, Nova Scotia. He eventually joined the Turkish navy. He married Rose Thayer. He retired from Turkish service when Abdul Hamid II was overthrown.
